Catching Up

This morning I woke to a dull
grey
day.

Not at all like the picture above which was taken on
Valentines Day.

After walking the dogs,
feeding the birds,
lighting the fire to keep cosy,
I set too to
do some sewing.
I had a deadline
and it was up.
Last night I spent the evening sewing,
hand sewing,
something I enjoy.
So I only had a little left to do,
and some cards to make.
Once all was complete,
(the dogs were being very patient waiting for their walk)
I looked to see that it was snowing,
still snowing.
It had been snowing since I started sewing.
Very poetic!
The sewing and cards I had made were destined to go on a long journey.
They couldn't stay in Bun Mountain Cottage.
They had a journey to make.
Six seperate journeys to:
England,
Ireland,
Australia,
The Netherlands,
and two to the USA.

Their journey began with me hoping that once I made it down the track to the road
we could make it back up the track!
Fortunately although it was snowing steadily,
it was thin,
wet,
snow.
So whilst out posting my little packets,
I took the hounds out for a walk
somewhere different.
They were quite excited
to be out somewhere different.
I was quite excited that I had at last managed to complete
this part of the swap I am involved in.
A little late,
(the deadline had been extended,
fortunately for me).
So onto the next round of the swap.
I hope to show you some photos
of what I've been up to.
Once the packets
have reached their destinations.
And in working on my sewing.
I had the idea of what I can offer
in the way of a give away
for my
hundredth post,
which is coming up soon.
I must just check when.
I'd best get sewing.
Catch you later.

Hello Lynne.
Your photos are beautiful. A little too much snow for me though! ha, ha!
Paddy and Rufus look like a couple of gangley teenages, lolling on that sofa on your sidebar.

Glad you enjoyed my little walk around Hawes. It's such a beautiful place I feel I really should share it with as many people as possible.

Looking forward to seeing what you made.

Love Fi x

Sue, the weather has been variable here. But always glorious when the sun shines.

bigbucketgirl, I agree, reading blogs is preferable to being out in the grey and wet.

MarmaladeRose, thank you. Well there certainly is plenty of snow here. I like your comment about Rufus and Paddy. They can act like teenagers as well sometimes.

I'm looking forward to showing what I've made. It's about time I showed something I've actually completed!

You are so ambitious. You put me to shame. On the way home from taking Austin to preschool,I bought a flat of pansies and some veggies to plant today. It was a lovely day and I fully intended to work in the garden. Then I got home and visited with a neighbor a while.... then did a little of this and a little of that... and before I knew it....it was time to make dinner and getting dark. I never did get out to work in the garden. Shame on me.... and then you are there getting so much done... It is good that I have you for an example... you and Marie are good for me.

I must run off to a church meeting tonight but I wanted to thank you for stopping by and saying "hi" to me. I always enjoy hearing from you. I hope that spring is on its way for you. I am trying to send a little of our sunshine your way. We have more than we need.

Stay warm.... Hugs,Lura

Snow and sewing do go togehter. So does any grey day. It just makes you want to get all cozy and use a needle and thread. I just finished a fun project for St. Patrick's Day that will go on my blog today. I am anxious to see what you have been sewing...

Hugs ~

The walk with the hounds in the snow sounds lovely and I love to sew on quiet, cold evenings too. The Valentine's Day photos are very beautiful. Six people are going to be thrilled to get your projects! Have a great day and thanks for your visit.

Hello Lynne thanks for stopping by!
You live in a beautiful part of the world.

I found your patchwork post, I'm sure it will be lovely when you finish it, if you havent already?

My patchwork is only a couple of months in the making, its been quite a joy.

Love your dogs by the way, very elegant.

Lura, the days have a habit of running away with us don't they?
You're right Heidi, sitting all cosy on a grey day with a bit of sewing , what could be better?
Mildred, I continue to enjoy the snow, and Jewel LOVES it.
Summerfete, you must be joking!  Finished it?  No way.  But I have enlisted some help in the form of a most inspirational blog.  I must list it on my side bar.  Well I've still to list a load on my side bar.
Thanks Daisy, coming up soon.
