Snowy Fells

As promised,
here are some photos from a trip to
The Lake District
that I took with my sister
on the first day of April.

It was particularly spectacular
as it had snowed overnight
making it a winter wonderland
on the fells.

We went to my favourite lake,
then on to
Derwentwater.

It was very cold,
but pretty.

The photo above is looking over to Skiddaw.

Finishing off by

It was lovely to get into the Lakes
and for once the sun was shining.

Oh good heavens...picture #6...breath-taking! Simply wonderful. I have a thing for photographs for snow...it's always sun or rain around here, but no snow, so I'm always amazed by pictures of it. And the lake...beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
*hugs*

Fabulous photos!! We usually have lambs in the field across the road from us, but there aren't any this year, and every time we see some when we're out, it's on a stretch of road where we can't stop!!

totally stunning - your photos are amazing. I've walked in North Wales but never the lake district.

Hi there
You popped by my blog, so I thought I'd call round to yours. Those pictures of the Lake District are superb, and I'd love to visit the shop you went to in Keswick. That picture looking towards Skiddaw makes you feel chilly just looking at it!
Lovely pics of your pups too!
Best wishes
Dan

Hello Lynne,
Just wanted to say thank you for your kind words and encouragement. It's much appreciated. The bobbin thread is by Guterman and is just called bobbin thread, as far as I know it only comes in black or white. As I said though, you get twice as much on the bobbin, it's a bit finer than the ordinary machine thread.
You can obviously get other makes and they are just as good.
If you email me your contact details, I'll send you a bobbin to try. fiona@marmaladerose.co.uk

I love the new header Lynne. Thanks for all your comments! The trouble is with me-I am busy-but not with the things I should be busy with-ie school work! I am putting it off till I go back on Monday!
Have a lovely weekend!

Hi Lynne, thanks for coming a-visiting. I don't really know the Lake District but your beautiful photos have given me a very good idea and I love the narrower ones you've printed, they really add to the drama of it all, I think. I do know that sticky toffee pudding originated from Ullswater, I expect they make a big thing of that up there!

I'm off to look through some more posts but the photo of the Easter bunny really caught my eye, I love it.

I love the Lake District. I went there for the first time a few years ago, and fell in love with the landscape. I thought Northumberland was beautiful, but had to admit, the Lake District is special. Fantastic photos, what gorgeous landscape. Love Vanessa xxx
