Just Stitchin'

One day a month,
Mike and I aim,
to give the other one,
a day off.
This means we are not obliged to
partake in the early morning walks with the dogs,
cough, cough!
If only they were early,
these walks tend to be a lot later these days.
Or any of their other walks apart from the last one at night.
And for me,
I don't have to think about what we're going to eat
and have to prepare it.
In other words,
no responsibilities on those days other than
deciding how we would like to spend the day.
Today, it was my turn,
and I just stitched away,
all day!

I love days like this - good for you! Your fabric is such a pretty color. I'm under the weather with a nasty cold. It's rainy and cold here and it has been a good day for me to rest.
Hope you have a restful evening.

That sounds a really good idea Lynne. I particularly like the bit about not having to think of what to put on the table. Also, for the dogs' sakes lets hope you don't both decide to take time off from their walks - there would be a lot of leg crossing going on!

When Malcolm took early retirement, I said that meant that I was retiring too, and that henceforth we would share the housework! This has worked really well (apart from the washing and ironing, which he refuses to do!!) He always cooked at the weekend, but now he cooks through the week as well!

Sounds like a very good agreement. Roddy tends to cook on Saturdays which is lovely & he has got into the habit of making Paella - yum !

I still like walking the dog in the early morning fog, if it is cold as the dickens out there now. It's late afternoons that I hand over the leash to Mac to handle her hignesses beezwax. I really love your fabric posey!

What could be better than a day off and a special project? Have been recovering from knee replacement surgery and (Bliss!) reading a book a day! I love your pictures!

What a great idea. I wonder if I could talk my husband into that.

Love the flower (and the photo of it too!). It made me smile.

Have a great weekend, jj

What an excellent idea Lynne! Such a treat to be able to do nothing but what you really want to and it sounds like you had a lovely day. I give myself days like that too (easier because I don't have dogs or children or husband) and I end up eating chocolate biscuits, mooching around in my pyjamas and playing with paper, scissors and glue :) FUN!!!
