Flood Water

Just to show how much rain we've had lately, I went out with the camera on Friday just to see if I'd won. (See previous post). Yes I did! The river was indeed higher. The river is coming up through the bridge on the road that leads down to the river.

Then again for more pics on Saturday.

Well, there'll be no walking alongside the river here will there?

You can see how the trees are not only surrounded by water, but it's quite deep as well.

It looks quite pretty though.

This road sign is taped to show that the road is flooded up river.

Last year, the floods were higher. The water came right over the road at the bottom where you can see the cars. Today, the water has subsided from how it was when I took these photos at the weekend.

Saturday was Mike's birthday. There are 3 of us Capricorns in the family.
We had a quiet day,
as you can see.

Lynne...Thank you for visiting my blog, and I'm sorry it took me so long to hop over to visit you. My goodness, what a post to come over on. That is alot of water! I hope everyone is safe and the high water doesn't do too much damage. So happy to meet you and the houndies.

Oh my goodness! You really do have a lot of water there. Great pictures, but I'm sorry things aren't better there for you to get your walks in. Those hounds look pretty tuckered out! :)

Hi Lynne,

I still remember the massive floods back in 2002...
if it doesn't stop raining soon we might see a repeat (hope not).
Awww...your dogs look so cute when they are napping :)

Definately know that wet feeling. The rivers Ure and Swale have been causing grief over here too - Aysgarth falls 'disappeared' there was that much water running the torrent looked like it was running on a flat river bed!

Happy 2012 to you and yours.

Well, here's wishing you some sunnier skies and dryer weather! The hounds look like they had loads of fun!

Flood and water damage is a serious problem people should not take lightly. It is dangerous to you and your family, or maybe your workers in your office. Mold growth and damage to your home or office will become worse if a full staff of professionals do not come in and repair and restore your home to a useable condition. Water will creep its way into small crawl spaces, drywall, ceiling tiles, cabinets, ect.
