A Mixed Bag

After a week of grey, uninspiring, miserable weather,
on Saturday we had this:-

Then today we had this:-

Nightimes however have all been pretty exceptional. It's been a full moon and although often the moon has been hiding behind the clouds, it has still cast it's light somehow through the cloud making it almost like an eerie kind of daylight.
This week brought us some shocking news. A friend of ours had a heart attack. She's only just had her 45th birthday. Fortunately she came out of hospital yesterday and when we went to see her, yes she was taking visitors, she looked well. A timely reminder I think that we are all getting older and we never know what's around the corner.
On a lighter note.
This fellow has taken to visiting us again. I love to see him, he's quite colourful. One of our most colourful birds that I've seen in our garden.
No doubt we'll be seeing more of him.
This is a typical fence that we see a lot of in the area. I like them, especially covered in snow. I expect I will be taking many more similiar pictures.
Well we'll see what this week brings.
My friend is coming to stay on Wednesday all being well. She had a visit planned in April 2007 just before we moved back to the UK but we had a spate of ill health so she cancelled.
I'm looking forward to her visit.

Lynne,
Sorry to hear about your friend. 45 seems VERY young to me since I am 55. I hope she recovers quickly!

Your weather over there seems very fickle. Yesterday looked beautiful and then today looked like a blizzard. It has been just rainy, chilly and cloudy all weekend here.

Hope you have a good week and enjoy whatever weather the good Lord sends you and your family!

Thanks Sue.
It is very changeable here at the moment which is unusual.
Have a good week too.

Lynne, I love the pretty bird photo, and I like that fence too. I've never seen one like that before.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend having a heart attack. I'm glad to hear she is doing better. They can do so much more these days than they used to be able to do medically.

The weather here is very changeable too. I guess we will take whatever we get, won't we? :D

Hi Lynne,
This is my first "visit" to your blog. Love the "snow" pictures, living in Southern Texas sadly, we do not see any snow :(

Your "Greyt" babies are beautiful! My husband and I are a foster home for Greyhounds and currently have 3 as members of the family. They are such loving companions.

Mildred, Thank you. I certainly hope to let you know what we get up to.

Daisy, there's lots of fences like that round here. Same design but subtle differences. I'll have to take more pictures and show you what I mean.

Hi Barb great to meet a fellow Greyhound enthusiast. They are lovely aren't they and so deserving I think.

Janneke, great to see you back. I was wondering where you'd got to. You've certainly been busy.
