A Free Day

It's been rather dull here.
So I haven't been taking many photos.
But I did take the camera out the other day
when we went a bit further afield for our walk with the hounds.
The first photo shows just how dull it's been.
The next one is something that I don't remember seeing before,
Mistletoe growing wild.
When we looked around
we noticed quite a lot of it.
Handy for next Christmas.

There's been more colour inside.
I've spent the day playing with fabric,
stitching and sewing away.
Mike and I give each other a day off every now and then.
So today Mike has walked the hounds, fed them,
and us,
while I've faffed about
enjoying myself,
creating.
I may show you what I made next time.
In fact those 20 minutes a day are accumulating.
So much so that
I may even have some reveals
to show soon.
Or what Lucy calls Ta Dah! moments.

What have you been up to?

Hi Lynne! Even though there is a lot of gray in that first photo, I think it is neat the way the vineyards look. All those lines going together makes for an interesting picture.

I've never seen Mistletoe growing wild. Looks like quite a lot of it there too!

I'm looking forward to seeing how your sewing project is coming along. I bet you are making good progress with it. :)

Hello Lynne, Where I grew up the big trees had mistletoe growing. My older brother and his friend would climb up high and get some for all the neighbors at Christmas. How nice to have a day all to yourself to enjoy some stitching with your colorful fabrics. We have had one nice, warm day and I pruned the roses. It felt good to be outside for a change. Hope you both are doing well.

Hi Lynne,
I used to love Mistletoe until I became a master gardener and discovered it was unhealthy for it to be in a tree. Knowledge. What a pain. Daisy said those are vineyards. I have never seen anything like that. It may be gray, but it is very interesting to look at.

Hello Lynne, Thanks for dropping by. Your 'grey' photo may be grey but what about all that texture! Quilting lines abound! Will keep popping back to see your ta-dah moments! Take care. alisonb2

That first photo is lovely! The way the vineyards make an abstract design. Look forward to seeing what you have made. I have just been working with very little fun time!

The first photo is definitely inspiration for some quilting! I've never seen mistletoe on a tree, only in shops in the run-up to Christmas!

What great pictures! I don't know mistletoe! Not a common or traditional thing here in Guatemala.
Curious about your project! I wonder what it is? anything that involves thread and needles surprises me always, as I am terrible at it, and admire those who have the skill. What I've been up to? work. Still a day to go, and counting the days. Can't do or plan much when one works Mon-Fri, 8 to 5. Such is life!
have a great day!!

I love your landscape photos Lynne, all those lovely lines in the fields. Your photos of the snow scenes were beautiful. That's a lot of Mistletoe, and I've never seen it growing in the wild, so that's fascinating. I've only ever seen it being sold for lots of money in a florist! Dear Lynne,
What a tease you are. How am I suppose to wait to see your "ta dah" moment????? Thanks for the pictures. You may think the first one is dull but I think it is really very pretty with all of the fields spread out like a giant quilt.
The pictures of your 4 legged kids spread out on your sofa on your side bar makes me smile. Once and a while our 110 pound horse of a German Shepherd gets up on our sofa. She fills up the whole thing. She is not suppose to be up there....but sometimes we come home and find her fast asleep with her head on the pillows. She knows a soft place to rest when we are not home to tell her no. lol

Can't wait to see what you have been creating. Hugs, Lura
