Happy 5th Birthday...

... to my Grandson.

I had planned to be with him tonight,
but plans were changed due to the weather.
However it sounded as though he was enjoying himself
when I phoned earlier tonight.

Here's the boy himself a month ago when I visited the UK before Christmas.

I expect there's been lots of happy smiles today.
As for me,
I have spent my creative time today
working on my longstanding hexagon quilt.
Nothing to show for it here as not a stitch was sewn,
just templates being removed in order to reuse them in other parts of the quilt.
I have posted about it before.
Maybe this will be the year that it actually starts to take shape
at long last.
After all,
it has been around a lot longer than my Grandson!

Happy Birthday to your little Grandson! He is adorable!! Bad weather huh? I am in awe of quilters...been to several shows around the USA and it is amazing the time and love that goes into one quilt. I've been tempted, when up north, to sit in on the Mennonite ladies when they quilt. Maybe next summer. Happy Thursday!

what a cute boy!!

as for the glueing tissue paper, i'll ask my sister what kind of glue it was and get back to you, but i think it was just regular glue diluted with water (ie elmers or such)

Happy birthday to your grandson, Lynne. It's too bad the weather canceled your visit, but it is good that you got to see him not too long ago. He looks like quite a little charmer. The cake looks delicious! :) Good luck with your quilt. I'm sure it will turn out beautifully!

Aw, five is such a darling age, I loved it when my son was 5, we had such fun. I was most interested by your hexies, as a hexie lover myself :) Whats that quote on our group site? Be not afraid of going slowly, only of standing still. Even one hexie a day is progress!
