Snowy Walk
We took a walk with the dogs today.
(We take several walks with the dogs everyday.)
Today it was quite snowy in the forest.
Today it was quite snowy in the forest.
Our walk took us down the hill to the road where we could just catch glimpses of the lake through the trees.
The lake is completely frozen.
It is 12 miles which is about 20 kilometres long.
Once back at our torpet, the dogs had a run round.
Before disappearing off up the track to our neighbours house,
the little devils!
Mike had to go and fetch them back.
Of course after that little escapade they were tired.
And they've been in their beds ever since!
Next time they run off
we will send them to bed
without their supper!
Mike's making their dinner now, just in case you thought we would do a thing like that.
As if!

Fun in the Snow
Sarah was asking if we still had snow here.

So, yes Sarah, we still have snow here in Sweden.
It has been snowing for the past 3 days.
This morning we woke and saw that it had been snowing overnight
and now the trees are covered in snow again,
always a pretty sight.
So after making sure the birds,
and the squirrel
had something to eat,
we had some play time with the dogs in the snow....
So, yes Sarah, we still have snow here in Sweden.
And the dogs LOVE it!

Sense of Community
What is so good about Blogworld is the sense of community. I have spent the last two weeks on my own, (in the middle of a forest with no near neighbours). During which time I have visited other blogs, (some would say too much time). What a lovely place to be. People are so friendly, supportive, generous and of course interesting.
I suppose for me it has provided that human contact I haven't had while my husband has been away, and during the disappointment when my children didn't make it over here for a visit. Blogworld went some way to fill in some missing bits.
Not sure how much time I will get to visit all the wonderful places I've been to recently in Blogland. My husband returns tomorrow with a van load of stuff, so it looks as though I will be busy for a while finding a home for it all. I's nice to think that he's on his way back to me now.
Course I haven't been completely alone for the past two weeks!
I thought I would include some pictures of my companions (constant companions I should say) over the last two weeks.

They look content don't they? I think they have settled very well into their new home in Sweden.

Lemon Cake for the Walkers
After an unsure start, it has turned into a lovely sunny warm day. My friend came over to join me taking the dogs for a walk. It was too hot to do the longer walk we did last Saturday. We did not want to try the steppy stones across the river that we did last week, with 3 dogs. It was just asking for trouble. So we kept it simple; down to the river, across the fields and over the stile, a lie down in the grass, (Paddy was the first to lie down), and a slow walk back. Very enjoyable. It would have been nice to take the camera but it also would have been too much to manage with 3 dogs.
Back home my friend and I had tea and lemon cake, mmmm yum. The dogs had a lie down before having their dinner, a bit later than usual. I think Rufus was a bit concerned as he is used to eating at the same time every day so this was out of the ordinary for him. But I think he made up for it, as when I came back in from saying goodbye to my friend, Jewel's dish was empty (she usually doesn't eat it all at once prefering to finish it later, and Paddy never goes into her dish).
They are still fast asleep and content. Rufus is even making funny little snoring sounds. I expect they will be up to give Mike a big noisy welcome when he gets home in another hour.
But will there be any lemon cake left I wonder?
